Held an engaging and insightful interaction with a delegation of nearly 70 outstanding, confident and knowledgeable young professionals and researchers from diverse disciplines as part of the Rising Leaders Programme, organised by ILead Global Foundation @ileadglobe and India Office of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung @kas_india.

India is scripting an unprecedented energy security story under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji. Today, India’s energy diplomacy resonates across the world as we secure uninterrupted supplies, diversify our energy basket and ensure access to affordable and sustainable energy for our citizens, despite the ongoing geopolitical crises affecting major global energy-producing regions.
Even as several parts of the world grappled with an energy shock and surging fuel prices, India stood out for maintaining stable domestic fuel prices, and shielding its citizens from the full impact of global volatility.

We also discussed how India is the world’s 3rd largest energy consumer, 3rd largest crude oil importer and 4th largest refiner, consuming around 5 million barrels of oil per day. India is also expected to account for nearly 25% of global energy demand growth over the next two decades.

Spoke at the India-EU Youth Conference 2026, jointly organised by The Geostrata and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) India, in Bengaluru, to a room full of young professionals and emerging leaders.

Against the backdrop of a rapidly shifting global order, I spoke about why the India-EU technology partnership matters more than ever. Europe brings deep research and technological capability, while India brings engineering talent, scale and the ability to build and deploy quickly. Together, we have the opportunity to co-create for the world, across an economic space representing roughly a quarter of the world’s population and economy.

Also took some spirited questions from the audience, ranging from urban infrastructure to politics. Today’s youth is informed, curious and candid. Always a pleasure interacting with them and understanding their pulse.
