If UFC 250 at the White House offended you, but what happened on the White House lawn under Biden didn't, maybe it's time to relearn what it means to be American...
Gavin Newsom is doing the thing corrupt politicians always do when the spotlight finally turns back on them.
He's pretending the investigation is the scandal.
It's not.
The scandal is that this man has spent his entire public life inside the gap between power and accountability, and he STILL acts stunned when somebody decides to take a peek behind the curtain.
Gavin is a product of the California lobby machine, the one that trades names and makes sure their guys win.
His whole business career was bankrolled by the billionaire Getty family. But you'll never hear Gavin rage about Getty money. He saves that for Elon.
This is a man whose entire political career is a pattern: overreach, scandal, fines for "irregular" accounting. Over and over.
He had an affair with his own appointments secretary, who happened to be the wife of his campaign manager and best friend.
Btw; she got a $10,154 city payout. Supposedly no wrongdoing. Why are taxpayers paying for Gavin's adultery?
He believes he's above the law. That if it's for the "right reasons," the law is made to be broken. That's what every dictator tells himself.
2004, he issued marriage licenses against state law. Courts voided them.
French Laundry, November 2020. He's got the whole state locked in their homes. He went after Elon for keeping Tesla open, told him to comply or get out of California, played hard-ass enforcer on national TV.
Then he drove up to Napa and threw a $400 plate dinner for lobbyists. Like cmon dude, at least pretend to believe the stuff you say on TV.
(oh and btw, multiple businesses he owns got PPP relief during covid. just saying.)
Beyond that, I don't get how anyone thinks this man is a great governor, let alone honest.
Under his nose, $20B in unemployment fraud, $800M of it mailed to people in prison cells. Has spent $24B on homelessness yet no auditor or taxpayer can tell what happened with the money or if anything changed.
The high speed rail is a running joke, $33B to $100B. No one's buying innocent OR competent.
And then there's his wife.
Her nonprofit paid her $1.8M over the years and routed another $2.1M to her OWN production company.
Then the $20M state diaper program, run through a different nonprofit she co-founded, whose co-CEO sits on her board.
Why is his wife the only person suitable for all these deals? That's family dealing, plain and simple, and it's the exact thread federal investigators are pulling on right now. Her finances. Her taxes. Her nonprofits.
So let's add it up, Gavin.
Your best friend resigned over your affair. Your chief of staff just pleaded guilty to federal fraud. You've got two ethics fines in two years and the state's own enforcer calling it a "pattern of repeated violations." Your wife is pulling millions out of nonprofits and landing state contracts. $20B in fraud walked out the door. $24B on homelessness that vanished. A bullet train that's a national punchline.
And your pitch is that the only reason anyone's asking questions is that Trump doesn't like you? And to be clear, some of these investigations started under the Biden Administration.
Come on, dude.
This is the disease with these people. Decades inside the machine, public money in, private benefit out, no consequences, and the second anyone investigates they wrap themselves in democracy and scream persecution.
But Gavin Newsom thinks scrutiny happens BENEATH him.
Let's run through some Democrat lies shall we?

But NOW they're telling the truth?
McDonald's announced they're replacing cashiers with kiosks in California just after the $20 minimum wage kicked in. Shocking to absolutely no one who understands basic economics. When you artificially price labor above its market value, employers find substitutes. Machines, automation, or they simply eliminate positions entirely.
The teenagers who desperately need that first job experience? Gone. The single mother trying to re-enter the workforce after years away? Priced out by someone with more skills. You've just created a legal barrier that prevents the least skilled workers from competing on the one thing they had going for them: willingness to work for less while they build experience.
Politicians pat themselves on the back for "helping workers" while unemployment among young minorities hits double digits. The workers who keep their jobs benefit (temporarily), but the invisible victims, those who never get hired in the first place, don't make headlines. Economics doesn't care about your good intentions.
@HillaryClinton
Ma’am, I was the Air Force Lt. Colonel who carried the nuclear football for your husband inside that “people’s house” you’re suddenly so precious about. I saw it all up close for two years.
While Bill was getting blow jobs in the Oval Office from an intern and groping female Air Force enlisted crew on Air Force One, you and your staff treated the military with open disdain, like we were the help, not the men and women sworn to protect this nation. The disrespect for anything non-Clinton was palpable.
You lecture about “respect for the institution” while your husband lost the nuclear codes and shrugged it off.
And when you finally slinked out in 2001? You and your crew trashed the place—vandalism, theft, glue in drawers, obscene messages, stolen property, and filth left behind for the next administration. The GAO confirmed it. Classy exit from the “people’s house.”
The White House belongs to the American people, not your grifting dynasty. They just elected a fighter who actually respects the military and the office. Keep ripping off poor kids in Haiti, selling your merch and clutching pearls.
Sit down, bitch. The adults are back in charge.
The irony is too rich to ignore. A piece lamenting that players made “a night meant for inclusion about something else entirely” …by simply writing Bible verses on their hats. Silently. On their own caps.
Let’s think about what “inclusion” apparently means here: everyone is welcome, celebrated, and affirmed…unless you’re a religious person expressing your faith quietly, in which case you’re a problem to be ridiculed by a major sports outlet.
The players weren’t protesting. They weren’t disrupting anything. They weren’t demanding anyone agree with them. They wrote scripture on their hats. That’s it. And yet the media framing treats this as an act of aggression against inclusion…while simultaneously being deeply exclusionary toward them.
This is the core contradiction the mainstream sports media can never seem to resolve: inclusion only seems to flow in one direction. Pride Night deserves full-throated coverage and moral endorsement. A Bible verse deserves a condescending op-ed.
If a reporter wrote a piece mocking players for putting an LGBTQ+ symbol on their cap, their career would be over by morning. The double standard isn’t subtle …it’s architectural.
True inclusion, by definition, has to include people of sincere religious faith. The moment a media outlet decides that one group’s expression is a celebration and another’s is an embarrassment, they’ve stopped covering a story and started enforcing a cultural orthodoxy.
That’s not journalism…it’s a dress code. @nytimes@TheAthletic
