One of the most personally difficult dynamics of advocating for victims of Church abuse the past couple years has been encountering those also advocating, yet who eagerly slander or hurt me and my family, because I am a believer, a male, and in ministry. The way that some so-called advocates have treated my family has been abusive. As I have observed this whole mess I've seen those who are consistent, who are willing to call out those their own friends, their own camp, their own heros and show real integrity. But the numbers are very small, unfortunately. And that's very sad. Be careful out there, friends. Don't leave one cult only to join another.

The fact that Mike Bickle resisted banning Rex Phillips from IHOP and was quick to reinstate him tells you a lot.

Whether Rex Phillips recanted his polygamous views, he still abused a minor. Surely Mike knew that. Yet even now, they are good buddies.

There seems to be a lot of money flowing from Hartley and Phillips which might explain the reticence and slow-walking of the exposure.

Here’s the tally of the founding influences of IHOPKC:

- Mike Bickle: serial sexual predator of minors and women
- Bob Hartley: serial sexual predator and datamining prophet
- Rex Phillips: sexually groomed and abused a minor, had views on polygamy
- Bob Jones: domestic violence, sexual abuse, told Mike as long as he didn’t have intercourse, he wouldn’t lose his mantle.
- Paul Cain: alcoholic, datamining, sexual sins

No wonder we have a 68 page report and people are crying out that it doesn’t even scratch the surface.

No wonder the culture is dark and deviant.

Cut off from these poisoned roots.

There has been a steady trickle of information coming out about someone named Rex Phillips that no one seems to be tackling head on. Someone said he is like Voldemort—he who must not be named. Of course, that means we need to name him and bring him to the light.

I never heard of him, but this is what I’ve gathered so far—please add and correct as needed.

- Comer Rex Phillips and Mike Bickle go far back to maybe the 80s where they met at the Full Gospel Businesmen’s meeting
- Rex, along with fellow sexual predator Bob Hartley, helped fund the birth of IHOPKC
- Rex groomed and sexually abused a 15 year old girl and renewed that relationship in adulthood
- There is a court case he is involved in
- He believes in polygamy
- He is still active in and around IHOP and Hope City where Mike Bickle is rumored to be hanging out. Hope City is run by Mike’s sister, Lisa Stribling and brother-in-law

I’m going to gather the posts I’ve seen about him below. Maybe he is protected because of the people involved in his story. I don’t know. Julie and Walter Meyer are connected on the chart someone put together. Allen Hood and Ed Hackett, who I believe is still in leadership at IHOPKC, are being called out as enablers. It would be great if those who are part of this story would speak into this. I believe it needs to be part of the public discourse.

I am able to hold the reality that Allen can be a fantastic advocate now and have made mistakes in the past regarding this and the Tyler & Bethany Deaton situation. I have no desire to crucify anyone who is repentant and takes ownership.

In light of the Firefly report and the deep systemic issues at IHOPKC, it is time to bring this more fully into the light considering Rex seems to have been an integral part of its founding and funding.

Let’s bring things out fully, take some ownership and responsibility, and obtain some measure of justice.

And for God’s sake, we need to remove these predators from our midst.

I am well aware that multiple people have every reason in the world to try to discredit when they have things to hide. I managed at a global company for years and have seen it often.
