New paper out.
In a nationwide study of 422 oesophageal and gastric cancer survivors, university education was the strongest factor associated with self-care engagement, and high self-care engagement was associated with better quality of life.

🧪 Can we trust the RCTs included in systematic reviews?
In our new study, 1 in 3 RCTs raised red flags for authenticity when assessed using trustworthiness checks.
Time to rethink assumptions.

Neonatal pain assessment and management presents a challenge for clinical staff worldwide. Over 40 rating scales have been developed and adapted worldwide assessing different parameters and various types of pain.

We analyzed 79 studies (7197 infants, 326 nurses, 12 physicians) across 26 countries using 27 clinical rating scales.
Neonatal pain scales showed very low-certainty evidence, raising serious concerns about their validity and reliability in neonatal care.

Our recent Cochrane review reveals that current clinical tools for assessing pain in newborns lack robust evidence, raising concerns about their reliability and validity. https://t.co/qjmQjwaRDn
🚀 Just published our latest study on the impact of physical exercise on health-related quality of life after esophageal or gastric cancer surgery. Results show no significant improvement, highlighting the need for more research. Link to paper https://t.co/mgnOapsaUj 📚

I am a co-author of this interesting paper. Our assessment of 2021 theses found that only 5.4% included a Systematic review (in a Swedish setting). Better SR training could reduce redundant research & improve research skills. #SystematicReview
