I'm planning to do some research in the area of stigma in MS in a while. Fears of stigma from others may be the reason why some PwMS choose not to disclose their diagnosis or their full range of symptoms.

Have you experienced any stigma around MS? How has this affected you?

The sun disappeared behind a cloud for a minutr and there was an audible sigh of relief.
It was 22 degrees. I was appalled.

Ok my optic neuritis happened in Quebec, a few years before I moved to the UK, but it was on every bloody form I’d ever filled out, etc. This was my GP (ok, a GP at my surgery- We rarely saw the GP who we were signed up with), she could see the ON on file. Dickhead.

I had a gp who said “maybe you don’t want to know what’s causing these symptoms. Do you really want to go down what rabbit hole?”
I was asking for help navigating the nhs. So I dropped it . Until 18 months later I went blind 😂
