WRAFT's mission is to provide community education and advocacy for the residents of Westfield, MA impacted by the pollution of their natural resources.
@charliersmith1 Your body shape is a goal for many. Our society wants to keep women preoccupied with being deficient. Reject the entire thing and do you. You look strong and capable of doing great things.
Announcing a new resource created in collaboration with WRAFT and Nantucket PFAS Action Group. We’re working to address unanswered questions about contaminants and other hazards of synthetic turf athletic fields.
@pfasprojectnh@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter@WendyENThomas Again, this was not about which PFAS are included. It was about the access to any testing whatsoever being covered by insurance in MA. Not every community has quest, but I was originally asked to post the info for the labs I knew went through MA ins. processing. So I shared it.
@pfasprojectnh@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter@WendyENThomas I’m sorry that we haven’t moved further faster, but that doesn’t mean people who want to get an idea shouldn’t use the (admittedly not perfect) options within their reach or that doing so is a step backwards for them. Not all who are affected can spend hundreds on blood testing.
@pfasprojectnh@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter@WendyENThomas Rewritten reply: this is confusing and makes no sense to me. Quest is just the place where they take the blood. Quest sends the sample to NMS. So how is the analysis different, or a step backwards, if using the same cpt code and same analytical laboratory?
@pfasprojectnh@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter@WendyENThomas If it’s significantly more than the cost of a lab copay, that’s the reason. Last I knew they were $200-400 US. For many EJ community members, private testing is cost prohibitive when they can order from quest through their physician.
@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter ... and if they tell you that it is not likely that you were highly exposed, pull out the map from @ewg and Northeastern University and demand that they prove you weren't highly exposed by ordering the test.

@andreaspeaker1@Di_Cotter Don’t buy any bovine excrement about MA residents not being eligible. Am currently looking at a PFAS (9tested) blood test lab report, ordered with above cpt code from Quest thru a MA physician, for MA resident whose test was ordered a couple weeks ago, for the cost of lab copay.
@bennettpeer ... and fill the tub with water so that if you lose your water supply, you'll have something to use to flush the toilet, wash wounds, wash dishes, maintain general sanitation...
"#PFAS is probably the worst environmental pollutant that the United States has ever faced... There are no safe kinds... I’ve yet to see one that doesn’t cause some sort of cancer or immunosuppression,” he says.

That time you were waiting to submit public comment about the #PFAS and other toxic chemicals in #PlasticGrass athletic fields and you hear @BillNye speaking out against its installation. Took a direct hit to my #GenX#NerdGirl#ChemGeek feels! @nontoxcom
