It is a pleasure to share with the #cancer field our work characterizing myeloid sarcoma, a tumor between liquid (leukemia) and solid (sarcoma), that is characterized by RAS pathway mutations, Darwinian extra-medullary evolution and gene expression adaptations to new, non-bone marrow micro-environments. Out at @BCD_AACR a study lead by @BettinaNadorp and @audrey_lasry and headed by our long-time colleagues and friends, @sanamloghavi and @AkEisfeld. This is a project that started 6-7 years ago and could not be finalized without colleagues like @ManelEsteller@PapapetrouMDPhD and @artsinyc ! Huge congrats and thanks to all! @Perlmutter_CC@NYUGSOM_Path@nyugrossman
Ksenia Matlawska-Wasowska, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology, has been named the latest recipient of the school's Featured Discovery award.

Infiltration of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (#ALL) into the meninges worsens prognosis.
Ksenia Matlawska-Wasowska @KMatlawska & team @UABNews show T-cell leukemia exploits an inflammatory pathway to invade the brain's protective layers, revealing a potential target for therapies aimed at preventing disease progression: https://t.co/5zmVG2YWiC

New paper out: Disrupted QKI regulation reshapes RNA splicing programs in T-ALL. This team effort is dedicated to the memory of Pieter, whose scientific curiosity continues to inspire us.

Really pleased to share the labs first publication in paediatric T-cell leukaemia. We find that the type 2 diabetes drug canagliflozin possess anti-leukaemic effects that can be enhanced via dietary restriction of serine. https://t.co/6GtgQAS6IU
Our fresh and still-steaming Journal of Clinical Investigation preprint is out! 🚀
We explore how T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) exploits inflammatory CXCR3–CXCL10 signaling within the meninges to drive CNS infiltration.

Thrilled for the R01 award from @theNCI to investigate the inflammatory pathways underlying CNS-involved T-cell ALL. @KMatlawska@ONealCancerUAB@UABHeersink
Kudos to my lab, in particular @NSH009, collaborators and friends for your hard work and support! You are the best!
