If parents don’t buy into what your school is doing, your curriculum won’t matter, your behavior policies won’t matter, your attendance policy won’t matter, the quality of your teachers won’t matter.
If you have alienated the parents, your school will fail.
@ianmiles What I see are young women who are involved in an activity, maybe with school or community. We should acknowledge that participation in sports and activities is good for education outcomes. I encourage people to get involved and be active! Better to be active than not.
The MPM has so far refused to grant us an interview, refused to grant us access to closed areas of the museum where they claim the repairs are necessary and has failed to produce almost all requests for documents and reports, all while claiming to be completely transparent.
@ColetteHigginsE @ModestTeacher Very opportunistic 7th graders. I wonder if the teacher realized that kicking out 10 kids was... unusual? Good story and sounds like you turned out OK. :)

Generosity is not about putting others first. It's about treating people better than they expect—and expecting nothing in return.
Showing care is as much about the respect you grant as the time you give.
A sign of character is consistently choosing to be kinder than necessary.
Most teachers have a passion to teach and to make a difference. Unfortunately, we don't support, encourage, and appreciate the passion and work of teachers and so unfortunately many burnout and leave. Which is the great tragedy of education.
We remove the Arts, music, drama, Physical Ed. etc. and then wonder why students feel a disconnect w/ education. In the real world, these greatly influence their lives. Shouldn't the "connection" we always talk about in education be connecting to this real world as well?
