GMB Union joined forces with SEND Reform England at a demo in Leeds on Thursday, to raise awareness about the lack of funding and support available in schools for special educational needs and disabilities, and the impact this is having on both children and school support staff.
It's time that SEND workers across our schools got the true recognition they deserve, and that is why GMB NEYH has launched the first leg of its campaign in Leeds.
James Wilton, GMB activist and SEND support worker, said: “This joint initiative is vital if we are to improve the working lives of school support staff across Leeds, which in turn, benefits the children in our care.”
