onchain art has an interface psychology problem
every platform leads with the floor, the WETH offers, the cheapest work in the series. price isn't next to the art, it is the art, in the eye of anyone scrolling.
that logic was built for 10k pfps, where price-first makes sense. those are liquid sets. you buy them to flip them, immediately or as the collection appreciates.
art series aren't liquid sets, yet platform interfaces treat them as such. the floor becomes the frame, the offers become the mood, the work becomes secondary.
even the strongest series gets dragged toward its weakest market signal.
the reverse is just as common. when influencers and brokers, openly or behind the scenes, amplify high prices around a handful of overhyped series, the market gets pulled by FOMO instead. same price-first psychology, opposite direction.
so what could art platforms do?
for a series, default to the strongest works. for an artist, default to the most resolved bodies of work. then 1-click for price, offers, holders, history, market driven data.
make market data easy, just don't lead with it.

And then suddenly, all crypto and NFT people vanished from here.
I haven’t seen anyone in a good while; nobody has replied or talked.
Yet here I am, still sharing my art with the world.
I wish the NFT and crypto dream were true so I could live off my art. Sadly, life happened again and all the dreams disappeared.

@flexasaurusrex https://t.co/k5zqdqwt9P blew me and my friends minds when we were 12. It was just random facts and cool images. I remember thinking “wow, the internet has so much potential” after seeing it. Which we found by randomly typing on URLs because there were no search engines.
Only a few hours left my friends...submissions close at midnights PST - if you were going to submit now is the time. Thanks everyone who has already submitted...we have already been blessed with abundant beauty. Thank you for showing us the world through your eyes!
Hi Lanett!
From the Mountains of My Mind is an ongoing series in which I overlay photos of flora onto mountainscapes. At times using images only from the surrounding area, other times using images from far and wide, depending on the mood/emotion I'm trying to convey.
When we're in these incredible places, the wind in the grass, the trees overhead, the colour of flowers in the meadows are all as much a part of the experience as the view. My goal is to combine the elements to create a more fulsome experience of place.
Oasis Ophelia may interest you: A desert scene in Utah, not far from New Mexico, with overlays from the PNW (my current home). I visit the desert every year and it holds a place of my heart.

Or Amber Slips Away, a dynamic piece from the Sierra Nevadas, Ca. Changing from a 'day' image to a 'night' image in sync with the sun as per the coordinates of the mountain, Mt Tom.

Curious about what you mean by fragmented?
Like across chains / platforms?
By “growing the space” do you mean more artists/collectors/participants/representation outside of X?
I’ve wondered if we’ll ever see groups of artists here create collectives based on shared visual and conceptual approaches, then those artists doing their own shows etc.
But otherwise I see this space as inherently fragmented, different chains/platforms and the ability for artists to be fully independent if they want kind of forces that outcome. Which is also what drew a lot of artists here I think.
It’s the nature of being decentralized. Maybe the decentralized art space experiment is doomed?
Gm. Tried a sensory deprivation tank.
Been in a visual creative funk for several months and not sure what to do about it. Been playing a lot more music.
Any tips?
