And several times there’ve been concerns raised that there’s only reshuffling of ££ rather than investment in dental services. Clearly the wider funding needs looking at.
Hell’s teeth… with no available NHS dentist provision in Rutland, according to Healthwatch, and commissioning of new services not starting til Sep (taking at least 3 months) Rutlanders won’t be able to get NHS dental treatment in their county for the rest of the year.

@VictoriaAtkins@DHSCgovuk So it will take 4 years to bring the waiting list to a reasonable prepandemic level. Can NHS staff maintain that level of extra hours etc without more resources
@Leic_hospital Are others having problems observing today's Board meeting. I'm getting "The live event is not found. Make sure the event exists and not cancelled." when I follow the link to view on Teams.
@ssjsjajj@LordOrk not just older people, some younger people have difficulties also and some older people are quite tech savvy. Suggesting this is a generational problem just isolates younger people who for a variety of reasons may not be happy using a App. There should always be an alternative
@clarky_on@SONHSLeics@Leic_hospital I think the hospital is struggling in some areas, repeating work because patients are not treated first time, indeed some patients are deteriorating. When you get to see clinical staff the treatment is excellent. Husband had excellent experience in oncology.
@SONHSLeics@Leic_hospital just taken 55minutes to park at LRI. Please give lots of time if attending LRI fortunately the patient I was bringing in was ambulatory and made his appt.
@clarky_on@SONHSLeics@Leic_hospital I hope your husband is OK. At Board Meeting 98 patients waiting over 78 weeks but none over 2 years so they have 3 weeks to see my husband. Once he got to the theatre door cancelled (no bed) and he did not get a recall within 28 days as per NHS constitution or even 90 days.
@clarky_on@SONHSLeics@Leic_hospital I was assured last March they were sorting it out, clearly failed. My husband has now been waiting 100 weeks for a procedure. 3 pre-op assessments have expired.
@MedicalOakham It would be good to put these figures into perspective. How many appointments were there last month and how many of those were GP appointments? Have you done any research to understand the barriers that may prevent people attending?
@Leic_hospital Yep spoke to them when 2nd pre-op was expiring first wk June. Very very helpful & charming. Very very apologetic but no date not even an indication of when it might be. Here we are 5 months later still waiting. So a headline of timely care just grates.
@Leic_hospital@Leic_hospital how many people are waiting more than 22 months for a procedure? Exclude those who have delayed through personal choice or on medical advice.
