This past week, a group of Berlin elementary teachers spent the day digging into big ideas and doing math together. Thank you @Wipebook for sending a set of Wipebooks to use during the PD session!
@ValVoboril's 4th graders used counting collections to have a super engaging and hands-on learning experience of place value. Listen to the pure joy & excitement as they counted all the way to 8,400! Thanks for the inspiration @BerkeleyEverett! 😀👍 #countingcollections#cgimath
What a wonderful day spent with our new BPS staff! Welcome to the district. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead. #PurposePassionPride#BerlinPride
My last assignment before the final is one of my favorites. Students reflect on how they have grown as a math person throughout the course by filling out one of the slides as seen below.

Our fun continues!! Today we had an opportunity to make some salt dough donuts! We followed a recipe, measured, poured and stirred! We are now waiting for them to dry! Next steps: decorate the donuts and think of a name for our shop! @jmewrdsb
Observational drawing promotes rich #math learning as children notice and name what they see as they attempt to recreate the object in a drawn format (e.g., patterns, texture, size, proportions).

@TreadwellLacey@marshallmath1@McLennan1977 Hello! Yes, I asked Deanna for permission to do so. We made enlarged copies of the pages from the book, mounted them on a solid backing, then attached them to wooden stakes. We made a walking path around the school grounds. Classes read, observed, and discussed!
Beautiful fall weather = An enjoyable math book walk!
Mrs. Marshall @marshallmath1 and some 2nd grade friends took a walk, read about nature, and answered math questions! Thank you @McLennan1977 for the amazing words and pictures in your Autumn Math Walk book! #GriswoldSOARS
