@oliviaagreeleyy Hi Olivia! Activities like these are so important to incorporate in everyday life to keep stress levels at a minimum. I personally find reading at least 15 minutes a day really relaxing and helps me reduce my levels of stress. #HKR1000
https://t.co/BVo6zfbjDP #HKR1000 This article is a reminder of how important warming up and cooling down are when it comes to working out. It also touches on rest periods to prevent injury, how to curve stress levels, and how to properly nourish the body to increase performance.
@Neilpower_13 Stretching should be incorporated into people's schedules, especially after workouts. Stretching after a workout not only increases flexibility but also reduces muscle tension. It should be just as crucial in a routine as physical activity! #HKR1000
The lab reports concluded that 87.67% of the class regularly participates in activities that provide enjoyment. This is such a huge aspect of overall wellness as it helps to relieve stress. It is so great to see so many people take part in things that make them happy. #HKR1000
@EmmaRandell5@JoshuaHynes15 Good point! People are going to listen to whatever they enjoy anyways whether it be by a Canadian artist or not. I usually turn on my Apple Music myself when a song on the radio comes on that I don't love. Artists should be played because they're good and not just cause of CanCon
@EmmaRandell5 Agreed! There are so many Canadian artists (Justin Bieber & Drake to name a couple) who are getting so much air time on the radio but are so admired that they don't need CanCon to get their songs played.
I agree with the idea of CanCon but I don't think it's entirely necessary anymore. I think there are so many Canadian artists who are internationally loved and would get their place on the radio with or without CanCon. #MUS2011W21
@chg881 True! Not only is music changing and becoming more difficult to perform live, but it is also simply way more accessible now to listeners as a recording than as a live performance.
#MUS2011W21 I agree with Wald. Yes, live cover bands are fun to watch but I feel people today tend to enjoy original recorded versions from their fav artists more. Older music was easier to play live than music of today, making records second rate subs for live music back then.
@GiovanniSylves1 Agreed! I personally really enjoy listening to recordings of artists I love, but that doesn't mean that I don't also enjoy going out to listen to a cover band perform live.
@nathandunne31 I agree that covers of songs do show versatility in music! I definitely also think that with that, credit should be given to original artists.
@MaggieB07464233 It's really sad to think about :( Taking credit for someone else's hard work is so wrong. The original artists should have at least been given song credits.
#MUS2011W21 It's obvious that with the invention of "schlock" music, the record companies only cared about what would make money and not the true talent of an artist. It's wrong that the original versions of the songs didn't get any credit, making it "schlock"; a cheap version.
@NickKehoe13 @DanielWNeill1 @phoebe_bridgers@KateBushMusic@soundgarden Me too! I've been loving them a little extra since the beginning of lockdown, I've even watched the documentary about them "the History of the Eagles"! Highly recommend, it was super interesting learning about their rise to fame #MUS2011W21
@FrancoP49029007 I had never realized that before either until I listened to the song! I also realized that "I've got a woman" is based on the song "Must be Jesus". So not only did ray Charles influence other artists but he too was influenced by other artists as well.
@MaggieB07464233 I completely agree! His unique style played such an important role in musical evolution. He is so easily differentiated from other artists, which makes him such an icon for not only soul music but for music in general.
#MUS2011W21 The song "I've got a woman" by Ray Charles uses breaking voice to express his raw emotion. The passion in his voice forms a connection with his listeners because it's evident his lyrics come from the heart. His unforgettable unique style is what made this such a hit!
@dshortall11#MUS2011W21 that's such a good point! Music is such a huge part of my own daily routine now that I think I'd feel lost without it. We are so lucky that it is so easily accessible to us as it hasn't always been that way in the past.
@Ellis20Liam#MUS2011W21 It's crazy to think about isn't it! It's wild how music used to only be performed live with no recordings due to the lack of the technology and now I can sit in a coffee shop and listen to my favourite songs through my headphones without anyone else hearing it.
#MUS2011W21 Pt.2: Listening technology, such as iPhones & iPod, have streaming services to make it easy to know mainstreams or โtop chartsโ in popular music more than ever. This could affect personal identity by persuading people think differently about their music/genre choices.
#MUS2011W21 Pt.1 :Nowadays, the listening technology greatly affects personal identity as well as the ways we access and listen to music. Music is now available at the touch of our fingertips.
