जनता दल यूनाइटेड की जागरूकता मुहिम 'फरक्का जल संधि पर नीतीश संवाद' को हर जिले में मिल रहा है अपार जनसमर्थन।

पानी सबके लिए जरूरी है। बिहार की नदियों के पानी पर बिहार का हक हो, यह 13 करोड़ बिहारवासियों के हित का मुद्दा है। गर्मियों में जब हमें सिंचाई के लिए पानी जरूरत रहती है, उस समय नेपाल से आने वाली नदियों का पानी भी गंगा में जाने देना पड़ता है, ताकि फरक्का जल संधि की शर्तों को पूरा किया जा सके।

अब दिसंबर 2026 में इस जल संधि की समय-सीमा समाप्त हो रही है। जद (यू) का स्पष्ट मानना है कि इस संधि का मौजूदा स्वरूप में नीवीनीकरण नहीं होना चाहिए और बिहार की जल आवश्यकताओं को ध्यान में रख कर ही आगे कोई व्यवस्था होनी चाहिए।

GU Celebrates a Rare Research Milestone 💐

A major breakthrough in fundamental particle physics has shown that gluonic string junctions and not the individual quarks are the true carriers of the baryon number. While recent experimental findings published in Science by the STAR Collaboration at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) made global headlines, similar results were foresightedly published earlier in Physical Review C 111(Jan 2025) by Prof. B. Bhattacharjee and his research scholars Banajit Barman, and Dr. Nur Hussain from Gauhati University.

By analysing PYTHIA-8.3 model generated proton-proton collisions data at CERN's LHC energies and comparing their results with the experimental results of ALICE and LHCb collaborations of CERN, Switzerland, the GU research group became the first Indian team to establish that Y-shaped gluon junctions could hold the key to explaining matter-antimatter asymmetry observed in the experimental data of these two global experiments.

While both the GU and BNL groups consider that the string junctions are the true carriers of baryon number, a concept beyond the highly acclaimed ’Standard Model’, the GU team advocates the transportation while BNL group believes the stoppage of these strings is the cause of such observed matter-antimatter asymmetry.

27.45 kg hydroponic weed seized at Delhi airport

In a major #narcotics interception at IGI Airport, New Delhi, Customs officers seized 27.450 kg of suspected hydroponic weed/ganja on September 9, 2026.

Acting on #intelligence, Airport Customs intercepted four passengers linked to flights arriving from Bangkok and Kathmandu. Surveillance revealed an attempt to collect checked-in baggage belonging to the Bangkok–Delhi passengers.

X-ray examination of the baggage raised suspicion, leading to the recovery of the green-coloured substance.

The four passengers have been apprehended under the NDPS Act, with further investigation underway.

"Bhupen Hazarika: Hundred Years of a Wandering Song", co-edited by Prof. Ankuran Dutta and myself, brings together contributions from 31 scholars from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, USA and UK, exploring his music, films, humanism, politics, folklore and his role in securing classical status for Sattriya dance.

पंजाब में आम आदमी पार्टी के राज में लोकतंत्र का पूरी तरह से पतन हो गया है।

पंजाब के सुपर सीएम केजरीवाल और कठपुतली सीएम गुरु दोखी भगवंत मान के कुशासन में जनता का सवाल पूछना गुनाह बन गया है।

सरदार मोहन जीत सिंह के साथ हुई पुलिसिया बर्बरता पर तो अभी तक मान सरकार सिर्फ लीपापोती कर ही रही थी।

डिर्बा से एक और भी मार्मिक घटना सामने आई है। गुलज़ार सिंह नाम के एक मजदूर भाई ने सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से वीडियो जारी कर बताया की उनके क्षेत्र में नशे की समस्या ने विकराल रूप ले लिया है और इसकी चपेट में उनका ख़ुद का बेटा आ गया जिसने चिट्टा खरीदने के लिए अपनी सारी सम्पत्ति बेच दी, अपनी पीड़ा को व्यक्त करने गुलज़ार सिंह जी वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा के पास पहुँचे तो उन्होंने समस्या का समाधान भी नहीं किया उल्टे अपने गुर्गे और गुंडे भेज कर गुलज़ार जी पर माफ़ी मांगने का दबाव बनाया।

इस लगातार हो रहे शोषण और अपमान से ग्रस्त होकर गुलज़ार सिंह जी ने इसी वीडियो में इन सभी रक्षक के रूप में आए भक्षकों के पापों का पर्दाफाश कर ज़हर खा लिया, इन भक्षकों को यहाँ भी चैन नहीं मिला तो ये भी प्रयास किए गए की इन्हें उपचार ना मिले और उन्हें कई अस्पतालों के चक्कर काटने को मजबूर किया गया अंततः गुलज़ार सिंह जी की दुखद मृत्यु हो गई।

आज पंजाब के इतिहास में एक बेहद दुखद दिन है आज केजरीवाल और गुरु दोखी भगवंत मान ने सिद्ध कर दिया है की उन्होंने पंजाब में लोकतंत्र को पूरी तरह से तिलांजलि दे दिया है।

स्वर्गीय गुलज़ार सिंह जी की ये शहादत व्यर्थ नहीं जाएगी उनकी इस प्राण आहुति से मान सरकार का कुशासन भी जाएगा और अरविंद केजरीवाल का आसमान से ऊँचा घमंड भी।

मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा को तत्काल बर्ख़ास्त कर उनके ऊपर आत्महत्या के लिए उकसाने का मुक़दमा दर्ज होना चाहिये।

Can love be defined by the boundaries society places around it?

That question, among many others, came alive at Gauhati University during a book release and reading session featuring Dr. Sruti Chakravarty, author of ‘Homo and Juliet,’ a collection exploring queer love, intimacy, identity, family, community and belonging.

Organised by the Department of Women’s Studies, Gauhati University, in collaboration with Akam Foundation, the programme opened up an engaging academic conversation on gender and sexuality, diverse forms of intimacy and companionship, chosen families and the lived experiences of queer communities.

In her welcome address, Prof. Polly Vauquline, Head of the Department of Women’s Studies, spoke about the Department’s longstanding engagement with queer rights and movements.

An interactive exchange with students and faculty further enriched the discussion, while reflections and a poetry recitation brought out themes of love, courage, resistance and the expectations society places on individuals.

Gauhati University hosted the ANRF-PAIR Workshop in collaboration with IIT Guwahati, Dibrugarh University, NEHU, NIT Agartala, NIT Manipur and IIIT Guwahati.

The programme was graced by chief guest Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, VC, who highlighted the importance of collaborative research. Prof. Sikhar Kumar Sarma, Dean, Faculty of Technology, delivered the welcome address.

The workshop featured 46 technical presentations, showcasing emerging ideas, research findings and practical solutions to scientific and societal challenges.

With 38 co-principal investigators and 68 research scholars from Gauhati University, supported by around 30 mentors from IIT Guwahati, PAIR has emerged as the largest collaborative research initiative undertaken by Gauhati University so far and one of the largest of its kind involving higher education institutions in Northeast India.

Moving beyond institutional proximity, PAIR is building meaningful research partnerships, strengthening research capacity, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and creating opportunities for young researchers.
