The Chief Minister of Pakistan explained that, "...autism or disability was not a disease, but rather a problem which the parents and society had to understand and handle with love and care." I feel so proud to be a Pakistani! #SocialModel#TUEDUC1331

Volunteering with both children and adults with disabilities at Camp Camp and Morgan's Wonderland has taught me so much about learning empathy and promoting equality. What has been the biggest lesson from your service learning projects? #TUEDUC1331
@GiannaNuckols How did that movie affect your perception of accessible technology and cultivating relationships with those who have exceptionalities? SH was clearly gifted immensely, as well as physically disabled, so he was twice exceptional. #tueduc1331
@Gaby_Galan6 The wheelchair ramps are often exposed to the elements, meaning that wheelchair users are caught between keeping dry and getting to where they need to go.
@tatthewmhomas21 It's terrible but common that people assume that those with a physical disability often have a mental one as well, when that's usually not the case.
@LearnerTrinity @abbyoptorres27 Stairs, doors, and especially wide open spaces - it's intimidating to walk around blind in a place I know so well; I can't imagine what it would be like to visit campus for the first time blind.
@kiranlalani96 Yes! Too often, people think "gifted" = "pretentious" or "elite" but gifted students deserve to thrive, just as disabled students deserve to thrive, because every student deserves to thrive!
[Do] people really think that the particulars of language are bigger than the true injustices or victories experienced by the disability community[?]

What's more important? Doing what's right or saying the right words?

Do we believe this is possible to attain within our lifetimes?
How can lay people make this happen?
@dlehrma1 For sure! I'm doing research on HIV right now for anthropology, and it's frustrating to see how far we have to go, but encouraging to know how far we've come!
Watching Philadelphia (1993) shook me to the core. A diagnosis of AIDs provides a "social death which precedes the physical one.โ Thoughts? #Educ1331
today i talked to a close friend for the first time in way too long. after telling her how things have been lately (rough) she goes, without missing a beat,
โgod is building you.โ
and it was just too good not to share.
