Since there’s a lot of discussion about kids at church, I have to tell you my favorite story.
It didn’t happen to me but to a dear friend of mine who was celebrating mass at the parish next to me.
When he elevated the Blessed Sacrament and the bells rang, a little boy jumped up on his pew, pointed and started shouting
“He’s saving the world! He’s saving the world!”
The priest told me he simply couldn’t put the host back on the altar.
He held it there.
People wept.
My friend said he didn’t know how long the moment lasted, but it felt like a blessed eternity.
God uses those little angels. Their souls are aware of what’s going on, maybe more so than the souls of some of the adults in the congregation.
We are blessed to hold fast to this beautiful, ancient faith.
