Kalkal Human Rights Development Organization promotes sustainable development, protect and enhance the rights of silent majority and marginalized groups.
We stand in solidarity and endorse the International Declaration on Gender Apartheid and Its Destructive Consequences.
Signed by our Regional Director, @Halayalkarib, this declaration affirms a shared commitment to confronting the systematic oppression of women and girls, particularly in Afghanistan, where gender apartheid continues to strip them of their fundamental human rights and freedoms.
This document comes as attacks on women's rights intensify globally, particularly in the Horn of Africa and across the African continent.
The Declaration will be launched on 13 August, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM ET, learn more and register here: https://t.co/WTLmCncJ70

At @Kalkalhuman, we believe that protecting civilians and promoting human dignity are non-negotiable. We affirm that civilians must never be targeted, harmed, or used as instruments of war during armed conflict.
Under International Humanitarian Law (IHL), all parties to an armed conflict have a legal obligation to distinguish between civilians and combatants, refrain from attacking civilian objects, and take all feasible precautions to protect civilian lives.
The Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their Additional Protocols reaffirm the fundamental principles of distinction, proportionality, and precaution in the conduct of hostilities.
We believe that protecting civilians is not optional—it is a legal obligation, a humanitarian responsibility, and a commitment to upholding human rights and human dignity.

A successful One-Person-One-Vote (OPOV) system must ensure that no one is left behind. Women’s meaningful participation in leadership is essential for inclusive governance, accountability, and sustainable peace.
Supporting the full implementation of the #30PercentQuota is a key step toward building a stronger, more inclusive, and representative Somalia where every voice counts.

On @UN Security Council reform, H.E. Ambassador @FSijilmassi reaffirmed the Common African Position anchored in the Ezulwini Consensus and the Sirte Declaration: two permanent seats with all prerogatives and two additional non-permanent seats for #Africa.
“We do not ask to rearrange the chairs. We ask to reform the room.”
He called on #civilsociety to take Africa’s position beyond diplomatic circles through civic #education, #media engagement, and citizen coalitions capable of making the case for a fairer Security Council in every classroom and newsroom.
