Today, the Coordinator of Isange One Stop Centres, Murebwayire Shafiga received a delegation from the Solidarity for African Women’s Rights coalition on a visit aimed at benchmarking Rwanda’s IOSC model to handling victims of gender-based violence and child abuse.

Their discussions also highlighted how Isange One Stop Centre services align with the Maputo Protocol.

The Inspector General of #Rwandapolice, CG Felix Namuhoranye, delivered a keynote on the third day of the Operation Usalama Comprehensive Review Meeting in Kigali.

Operation Usalama is an INTERPOL-supported annual law enforcement operation in Eastern and Southern Africa targeting transnational crime, human trafficking, terrorism, and counterfeit goods.

Today, RIB Secretary General @P_Kabanda officially opened the Operation USALAMA XI Review, and Operation Usalama XII planning Meeting, bringing together stakeholders from the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (#EAPCC0) and the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (#SARPCCO).

Operation USALAMA is an annual, INTERPOL - supported joint security and law enforcement initiative conducted across Eastern and Southern Africa to combat terrorism, transnational organized crime and dismantling of Organized Criminal Groups.

In his opening remarks, RIB Secretary General emphasized that the success of Operation USALAMA should not be measured solely by the number of arrests or seizures, but by the lasting partnerships built through joint investigations, coordinated operations, and the shared commitment to protecting citizens and safeguarding borders.

He encouraged participants to engage openly, exchange best practices, identify emerging threats, and develop practical solutions that will strengthen operational effectiveness and enhance regional security cooperation.

Today a delegation of 20 police officers who are undertaking a training of trainers (TOT) course on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) investigations from nine member states of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), including Rwanda, Sudan, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, Somalia, and Uganda visited Isange One Stop Centre, Kacyiru.

The visit was part of the practical part to complement the learning which started on 9 June. It provided an insight to participants on the Rwanda’s holistic and practical GBV victim centred approach.

Today, the National Coordinator of the Isange One Stop Centre, Murebwayire Shafiga, received the Ambassador of Brazil to Rwanda H.E. Irene Vida Gala (@IVG2909 ) together with a delegation of four judges from Brazil.

The visit aimed to learn from Rwanda’s Isange One Stop center's approach addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV), including victim-centered care and the coordinated provision of investigations, legal, medical and Psychological services for victims.
