Is Apple giving up on SwiftUI? Maybe: Mastodon went wild recently over a rumour shared by Steve Troughton-Smith:
“I have heard that SwiftUI has been losing political capital, and credibility, internally at Apple because it has repeatedly failed to meet software engineering goals, and needs. It’s no longer thought of as the clear default choice for new stuff. That might explain why it was deemphasized at WWDC compared to the past few years.”
Spicy stuff.
I look forward to the next edition of "Apple’s internal use of SwiftUI" by Alexandre Colucci. We can cross-reference whether this rumour is substantiated by seeing whether the SwiftUI usage has plateaued across the internal iOS binaries.

New in Claude Code: Code Review. A team of agents runs a deep review on every PR.
We built it for ourselves first. Code output per Anthropic engineer is up 200% this year and reviews were the bottleneck
Personally, I’ve been using it for a few weeks and have found it catches many real bugs that I would not have noticed otherwise
I tested the Flexbar (2K OLED touch bar for Win/Mac/Linux) as a developer, here’s my take:
It’s basically a programmable execution layer for your workflow.
✔ Run builds
✔ Trigger VSCode tasks
✔ Git add/commit/push in one tap
✔ Start/stop Docker
✔ Automate test → build → deploy sequences
✔ Display CPU / system metrics live
The JavaScript-based SDK is the real power move you can connect your own APIs and turn it into a live dev dashboard.
But if you’re the kind of dev who automates everything and optimizes micro-friction this is genuinely powerful.
We are gathered here tonight to lay to rest SwiftUI.
It was a powerful framework, letting us ship faster than we could have dreamed prior to 2019.
In 2025, twin technological waves conspired to negate its power, and compelled me to rediscover a lost love.
“Am I production ready yet?” — SwiftUI, 2019-2025. RIP.

I’m so excited to share the new FoundationModels framework! It gives you access to an on-device LLM with open prompting, structured output, tool calling, and more.
Make sure to watch the Platforms State of the Union at 1PM PST, to learn more!

@GergelyOrosz I am amazed by how many ai interview tools emerged (like https://t.co/Iqudt1XlNy), for sure some changes are coming to recruiting process
Is it just me, or is iOS 18 really buggy? The Mail app needs to be restarted to receive new emails, and notification icons are getting mixed up with other app icons.
