Today, a major Australian media outlet decided to tell us the SISTER of a MALE CRICKETER was allegedly killed by her SON.
The headline and story completely erases this woman's identity and reduces her to belonging to men.
So let me tell you who she is. Her name is Suzy Rackemann and she is 61 years old.
Suzy is also the 69th Australian woman killed this year.
Her son has been charged with murder.
Suzy was assaulted on August 17 at Kedron in Queensland. She died in hospital on August 26.
Suzy was adored by her family, her friends and her community. She was known for her kind heart, her fun-loving attitude and her deep care and concern, especially for women experiencing cancer.
Suzy was so so much more than someone's sister, mother and partner. SUZY WAS SOMEONE.
