A reminder that for all the constant talk of cost of living, as real and important as that is, there is a whole tier of Australian society that are left out.
Living below the poverty line.
They’re not talked about, nor considered, but they struggle for a meal every day.
Organisations like @addi_road fill this void, but shouldn’t have to.
A just society ensures that no one goes without, whether food, or shelter. And looks after the least, before others.
The lines at food centres are increasing every day.
A silent pain that barely registers in the media, nor politics, but is real nonetheless.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time and energy, or gives, to fill a need.
You have my great appreciation x
We can do better than a “safety net” that leaves people living in poverty.
I got the govt to set up an expert committee to give advice before every budget to try & change this.
If returned, I’ll keep pushing for them to act on that advice.

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.
He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords
Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:
@mhmck Reasons and levels of caution vary but here is a list of recent countries that have issued advisories : United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Japan, India, Antigua, Barbuda, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis
“When you see Trump with Putin, as I have on a few occasions, he’s like the 12-year old boy that goes to high school and meets the captain of the football team. ‘My hero!’ It’s really creepy.”
