Not long ago, Katniss was waiting for surgery, but now she’s waiting for a forever home.

This 7-month-old shepherd mix puppy captured so many hearts when we first shared her story and asked for help to repair her leg. Thanks to our amazing supporters, Katniss received the surgery she needed, healed beautifully, and is officially ready to meet her forever family.

She’s been thriving in a foster home, showing off her sweet, playful personality and just how resilient she is. Katniss is open to meeting other dogs, does well with kids, and is loving life as a growing puppy. And truly, with those ears, we can’t believe she hasn’t been scooped up yet.

Mickey is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. 💔😿💔😿💔😿
