Thank you @AaronSalwan for inviting me to join the #SafeRxChat with @CPSummitCounty this afternoon! Wonderful to hear from people championing safe medication use and making differences in their communities.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the #SafeRxChat! Our key take aways are:
1) Talk to your pharmacist - they are ready & eager to help
2) Safe disposal is a must & there are lots of tools/options available
3) Communities are finding creative ways to serve each other.
@CPSummitCounty I struggle with that too! A simple daily phone alert is an option for many people. The classic 7-day pillbox is also a great visual. Lastly, call your pharmacist- they can help you figure out how many days should be left in your bottle and get you back on track. #SafeRxChat
@CPSummitCounty A1: Second, the biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day scheduled for April 2020 was postponed indefinitely. When I volunteer at those events, I hear from many citizens who think it is the only opportunity of the year to dispose of their meds. That's actually not true. #SafeRxChat
@CPSummitCounty A1: As a pharmacist, I have two major concerns about SafeRx usage during the pandemic. First, more time at home means more opportunities for accidental drug exposure. Secure home storage is a must! #SafeRxChat
@MurrayAngelee Thank you, Angelee! So glad to be connected to you and your efforts as an Agent of Change in our local communities. 💪 Keep up the good work!
