Always remember the words "Big Tech" are being force-fed to you to make you think these are some larger-than-life village panchayats who give fair justice. These are American platforms beholden to American interests. This is AMERICAN BIG TECH. They are not neutral players. Their behaviour adjusts to American political realities. But their outlook on the rest of the world is beholden to American interests. The sooner policy makers outside America realise this and recalibrate accordingly, the better off everyone will become. This is not a call for banning. But Big Tech has to serve Indian interests, not American interests in India.

The Tarun Tejpal case is a classic example of political and social tribalism. This is an in-group and out-group mentality where we humans end up defending all sorts of debauchery because it's someone on our side. Everyone on the spectrum does it. It will be more pronounced on the left because of the nature of the left when it comes to their outlook towards the out-group.
The left tends to be more collectivist politically. Notice how right-wingers talk to everyone, as they do not have as much of a group mentality. But all my left wing friends have been chided by their fellow travellers for speaking with me or other right wingers sometime or the other in their life. But the right also has its moral bankruptcy. We have our incel trads who think women are a commodity. That is also part of this problematic culture. And that culture stems directly from religion.
You can get mad at me again for what I have said. I will not change 1% as I will only double down. Beyond a point, social media is not my life. My family is my life. The change has to come in our society that treats women like this. I am proud of my mom, who raised me well.

Percentage math for dummies
You CANNOT add percentages unless they refer to the same base.

Example for dummies
If something grows by 50% in one year and then by 40% in the next, you cannot say it grew by 90% in two years and 55.5% (=5/9) of the growth happened in the first year. Because the base is different!

What you do is *fix a base*. E.g.,
Value at start = 100
Value after year 1 = 100 * 1.5 = 150
Value after year 2 = 150 * 1.4 = 210
Total absolute growth = (150 - 100) + (210 - 150) = 110
Total % growth in two years = 110% (not 90%!)
Growth in first year as % of total growth = 50 / 110 = 45.45 %
Growth in second year as % of total growth = 60 / 110 = 54.55 %
CAGR = (210/100)^(1/2) - 1 = 44.9%

This is how you do percentage math. This is taught in high school.

Now look at the math expression in the exhibit:
Percentage = 2004–14 growth ÷ (2004–14 growth + 2014–26 growth)
All growth values are in percentages; the basis for 2004–14 growth is the 2004 value, and the basis for 2014–26 growth is the 2014 value. As the bases are different, the percentages in the denominator of the expression cannot be added. Hence, each shaded bar in the exhibit is wrong.
