Today, we all hope for the release of the four and their return to their families and to Kosovo.

🙏But whatever the verdict, remain calm and exercise restraint. If you protest, do so peacefully and with dignity. Different forms of disinformation and provocation may circulate today DO NOT FALL into Serbia’s trap or allow our emotions to be turned into tension and instability in Kosovo.

We know what the KLA fought for: the freedom of Kosovo and the rights of our people. We know who the aggressor was and why we were forced to fight. No verdict can erase that history.

You cannot put a liberation struggle on the same level as the crimes that Serbia committed against albanian civilians. Kosovo fought for freedom, while Serbian forces waged a campaign of violence against our people.

And we cannot speak of justice while convicted Serbian war criminals continue to be glorified in Serbia, while those who fought for the liberation of their country are being tried in The Hague.

As for @avucic’s claim that he knew the verdict in advance: if that is true, it must be properly examined. Any possible leak or inappropriate flow of information from the judicial process to a foreign state must be clarified and investigated.

📢So today, I call on EU officials, embassies, foreign politicians and international representatives: do not remain spectators. If the verdict is a conviction, be vocal and demand transparency and accountability for every issue that may affect trust in the process.
