@FromPhDtoLife Make your writing goals in paragraphs not pages, papers, or sections. A paragraph a day means you have a section draft in a week & a full MS draft in a month. Plenty fast for a new writer. Micro-goals, so small that they feel unimpressive on any single day. Let them add up.
@queendom_fungi @rttodd@InfraRedRum Ooh yeah! Party and Rob for the win!! It means so much to be grouped in with these two incredible scientists, educators and humans!
@Au_Erithacus @MuddyGirlFarm @BiologyCarly Additionally, I don’t think there is any problem with you, Aurora, deciding to face the issues in a more direct way if you feel safe to do so. I commend it. I firmly defend any non-man’s right to deal with the issues in the way they see appropriate. You go girl!
@Au_Erithacus @MuddyGirlFarm @BiologyCarly But hiding does prevent more problems from being created. Problems that each woman has a right not to want to deal with. What ‘complaining’ on Twitter does is get a conversation going so that we can address the issues broadly w/o making any lone woman sacrifice herself to them.
@BiologyCarly I’m not a man. You can can boast about your accomplishments to me! (Seriously, tell us what you did so we non-men can celebrate you.) ❤️❤️❤️
@sakrejda @jonpetrychyn@docfreeride Ah I understand now. The way this sentences was structured ‘Ask people who review to submit and find out what it takes to get them published?’ I thought you were saying reviewers need to find out. You meant the editor. My misunderstanding. We actually agree with each other. 👍🏻
@jonpetrychyn Maybe we make accepting papers contingent on complete a number of quality reviews within an assigned period? People who review regularly for a journal can have those reviews banked. People who don’t have their paper in limbo.
@sakrejda @jonpetrychyn@docfreeride I feel like this is backwards. One of the points of this thread is that women are more likely to spend their time doing free labor. Free labor = less time to publish. Also I am pretty sure reviewers know what it takes to get published, if not, would they be effective reviewers?
