that clip from long pond where Tay says Betty and James end up together and Jack looks at her like wtf??? is my roman empire cuz when you think about it that is the ROOT delusion that singlehandedly put her on the trajectory towards the traumatic events that brought us ttpd 😭
The way she was tearing up while trying to make sense of the footage as we were processing it alongside her. It was poetic seeing every news outlet come together on Disclosure Day in an era that often feels built to fragment narratives rather than inform the public with truth.
super excited to see that Steven Spielberg has read CS Lewis's essay 'Religion and Rocketry' which argues that the existence of Christianity and aliens are not in contradiction whatsoever
There's a beautiful scene in Disclosure Day where a character learns to understand themselves by experiencing a recreation of their childhood. Whether it was a conscious choice or not, it feels like Spielberg reflecting on how much The Fabelmans meant to him
Dirty Dancing couldn’t have been more explicitly pro abortion if Jerry Orbach stood up at the end and said “You’re right, nobody puts Baby in a corner, and abortion should be safe and legal.”
can we talk about how historical romances are almost unreadable now cause they’re written with the 21st century mentality. why is ur female lead talking exactly like a contemporary girlboss & facing no period accurate backlash…go write that office romance & put the corsets down
if you think this movie is “poorly lit” i think you’re stupid sorry. some of the best & most thoughtful lighting i’ve seen in a horror movie in a while
It’s very funny to watch The Social Reckoning trailer feel so haphazardly and awkwardly assembled, when the teaser for The Social Network remains one of the greatest teasers ever made. A true coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb.
Fabelmans is so good. has a hell of a lot more to say than you'd expect from "semi-autobio film about making movies." gives you a completely new lens to revisit his entire catalogue through. love the dancing mom scene but the film he makes about the bully is what really sticks.
my favorite part of this trailer is when Hand Covers Bruise by Reznor and Ross comes in at the end like it's an instantly recognizable theme like the opening music in Star Wars
The best analysis of Sorkin was whoever on here said that what he’s truly gifted at writing isn’t sweeping political epics but “best friends having a fight”
