I spoke at @NHSConfed about the opportunities enabled by specialised delegation and South London’s recent transformation achievements and was immensely proud to hear both @AmandaPritchard and @SteveBarclay recognise our work on HIV and Hepatitis ED testing in their keynotes.
We attended an event at Parliament led by the APPG for HIV&AIDS, and @HIVOutcomes UK on ending inequalities for people living with HIV, focussing on ending new transmissions, and achieving good quality of life for all. We look forward to seeing the upcoming HIV Action Plan #HIV
It’s one year on from our launch of the @KingsCollegeNHS OPAT pilot and patients have been spared over 4,000 nights in hospital - getting home sooner thanks to self or nurse administered IV antibiotics in the home. To learn more, visit: https://t.co/7ZHLca86us

A record breaking 1,456 entries this year shows that even under vast pressure the NHS and broader health and social care systems deliver over and above. Really inspiring to see and congratulations to everyone shortlisted! 🎉
Incredibly proud to see two of our specialised pilots shortlisted for the 2023 HSJ Awards! Our teams have worked hard to deliver huge improvements in what has been an incredibly challenging time for the NHS. Thank you and well done, this recognition is so well deserved! 👏🏼
Delighted to see our opt-out blood-borne Virus (BBV) testing in South London EDs shortlisted in @HSJ_Awards for Acute Sector Innovation of the Year #HSJAwards 👏

Read about how we are using remote monitoring to keep people safe whilst they prepare for cardiac surgery.
Our patients say: “This is brilliant! You are able to get in touch so easily, without hassle, and you know that there is someone there at all times to support you.”
Exciting! The South London Cardiac ODN was "highly commended" at the HSJ Digital Awards 2023 for Supporting elective recovery and Optimising clinical pathways! https://t.co/gTkVkQDCGe

It is #WorldSickleCellDay. There are 17,000 patients in the UK with sickle cell disease.
Read Professor Baba Inusa’s blog to learn more about his work treating this inherited disorder, which causes people to have unusually shaped red blood cells: https://t.co/ov6NdJhq5u
Today we raised awareness for #WorldSickleCellDay
We heard from:
@WandsworthMayor, passionate for the cause and has Sickle Cell in her family
Elizabeth Rhodes, Haematology Consultant and Deputy CMO
Our patient groups
Invisible Warriors charity
Thanks to everyone involved!
Today is #WorldSickleCellDay. On top of NHSE’s hyper acute units, London has invested £10m across 2 years to support ICBs to improve community care for people with #SickleCell. We are excited to deliver this important programme!
This #WorldSickleCellDay I'm pleased to announce six new hyper acute units to provide specialist support to people with sickle cell.
I’m determined we continue to improve care for people with sickle cell. Listening to what they tell us will make the biggest difference.
Listened to the fantastic @AdamRutherford talk about race, genetics and the racial and political bias in science; “Race is not biologically meaningful but has biologically meaningful consequences”
A huge thank you and well done to our amazing teams that have delivered this incredible work. Bravo 👏🏼

Started the month off by meeting with the Danish Embassy and Danish State Hospital @Rigshospitalet to talk about our cardiac improvement journey in South London and insights on collaboration, network leadership, specialised transformation and the future of healthcare.
In spite of the many challenges, I’m feeling energised and inspired by a busy few weeks of interesting and engaging conversations across the sector about the future of healthcare.✨Fantastic to see so much good work happening!
Impressed with this blasting of knee-jerk short term central interventions from Patricia Hewitt, issued just ten days after the latest £200m, dolloped out by government in the middle of winter to cover a few weeks of care, with daily reporting
