@SavvasLearning When in doubt, laminate! I ask parents to send me a family photo. I put one copy in The Family Book that the kids loving looking through all year. The other copy goes on the wall on a cutout refrigerator picture. 5 year olds love to see each other’s families.
@thismomloves I have taught 5K for 35 years. I agree that little ones will buy in to most activities if you explain it in a fun/exciting way. That being said, we do a similar weekly spelling assessment. We call in a Spell Check. Kids are okay with that.

@LukeSampe A senior at UW-Whitewater, I was student teaching in Janesville. We had a snow day, and our outdoor graduation scheduled for two days later became 2 indoor ceremonies. I remember it well!
@aposiopesist@gorska@DanWuori Beautiful advice! I see so many parents looking at their screens instead of interacting with their little ones. I used to narrate trips to the store, share interesting observations on our walks, and talk to both of my kids before they could talk. It’s never too early to start.
