New paper out in @NatureMicrobiol! Combining SIP and multi-omics, we found increased emissions of 'leaky' volatile microbial metabolites during drought due to increased production and buildup as carbon cycling efficiency and consumption decreased.

We started our monitoring on soil CO2 effluxes in subarctic grasslands in a geothermal warming gradient in Iceland. By combining automatic and manual measurements, we are assessing medium-term and long-term warming effects on soil respiration and its components (6/8)
