Deeply proud of @mtholyoke alumna @Smriti__Pandey! 🎉 Smriti was one of the first four students who joined my lab in 2017 and was a leader right from the start. It’s been such fun to watch her develop some amazing science with @davidrliu, evolving prime editing tools!! 🙌🧬💜

Please mark your calendars for the 8th Conference on Regulating with RNA in Bacteria and Archaea! The meeting will be held September 1 - 4, 2025, at the Strasbourg Convention Centre, Strasbourg, France 🇫🇷.
We are very excited and hope to see as many of you as possible!
@HannahLBlanc @mtholyoke These new constructs (with GC clamps and/or an exogenous intrinsic terminator) definitely expand the detectable scope of Hfq-RNA interactions in the B3H assay, and we hope they will be broadly useful to many in the community for your favorite RNAs and proteins!
Interested in using the bacterial three-hybrid assay to study your favorite RNA-protein interaction? Check out this preprint with new constructs for expressing your bait RNA -- especially if it's prone to misfolding or doesn't include a bacterial terminator. On @Addgene soon!
This work comes out of the excellent undergraduate honors theses of Linh Nguyen '22 and @HannahLBlanc '20 @mtholyoke, who are both off doing new cool science!
How it started (2019); how it’s going (2024). Thanks @RTI_UMassChan for an amazing #RNATx2024!! An amazing slate of speakers and such a welcoming environment for these future #RNAstars from @mtholyoke💙
Wonderful time at #RNA2024 and especially enjoyed connecting with folks from the @RNAatPUI community. If you do RNA research primarily with undergrads, or are a trainee interested in this path, get in touch to join our community and #RNAsalon 💜🧬🙌 @Meg_Filbin@angiehilliker
Less than ONE WEEK to submit your abstract for a poster presentation at our sixth annual RNA Therapeutics: From Concept to Clinic symposium. https://t.co/bShbVzwDek
Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman – awarded the 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine – discovered that base-modified mRNA can be used to block activation of inflammatory reactions and increase protein production when mRNA is delivered to cells.
The @mtholyoke biology department is seeking a visiting instructor to teach Microbiology with lab in Spring 2024. A great opportunity to gain teaching experience in a small liberal arts college setting. Please share, and msg me directly with questions/how to apply.
Interested in RNA, spirochetes and ticks? Consider applying for a fully-funded post-doctoral position in my lab @NIH main campus! For inquires email a CV and the names of three references. #postdocposition#RNA Please share!
Are you a PUI faculty and interested in securing grants for to support your research? The Education Committee of the Biophysical Society is hosting a Webinar (Funding Opportunities for PUI) THIS THURSDAY at 1pm EST. We will have speakers from @NIH, @NSF, and @RCSA1 .
@julieapollock You might want to check out the malate dehydrogenase CURE to see if it could slot in or be adapted with your needs — there are lots of schools that build into the community together. https://t.co/nxx79FRho8

Very proud of the work from PhD student Ewa Stein in Miko’s lab, and @mtholyoke undergrads Suxuan (Linda) Wang, Katherine @kg_dailey and Shiying (Amy) Wang and our amazing lab manager and technician Chandra @C_mGravel!!
Excited to share a new preprint with Miko Olejniczak’s lab where we’ve used molecular genetic screens and in vitro binding studies of many mutants across multiple RNAs to define how the E. coli #ProQ#RBP interacts with #RNA ligands. 🧬💜 #BacterialRNAs
