My point is that for every loolah shrieking on the streets there are probably dozens like him. So don't tell me the far right could never gain a foothold in Ireland. Their feet are already under the table.

I keep hearing how there is no real support for the far right in Ireland. Let me tell you my experience. I live with a relative, no other option. He is a recently (a few years) retired fairly high ranking civil servant, you might even recognise his name.

I used to argue with him but it's pointless. Now I just try to keep out of his way, hard as that is in the same house. I do the lotto every week in the forlorn hope of enough cash to escape this house.

@fluffycatinthe1 His employer has a series of valid gripes with him - not following the school ethos, not engaging in the resolution process that exists for such issues, harassing other employees, turning up for work when suspended (on full pay), non-compliance with a court order. Long list.

@fluffycatinthe1 Fair. Losing his job if that's what the process resulted in would also be fair. Going to jail for contempt of court is also fair. He has no gripe except in his head.

@fluffycatinthe1 @EeepersChoice You don't go to jail for refusing to comply with a request by your employer. You may enter a process that results in loss of your job, sure. But if you harrass people, repeatedly, refuse to stop to the point that there is a court order, then refuse to comply with that. Jail.

I used to enjoy The Leap of Faith on @RTERadio1 when it was primarily about faith & religion in society. It's meant to be "a programme for people of all faiths and none" - not now. It assumes christian belief now and the presentation style is prissy and self-satisfied.

@Gerrysmart99 I know a lot of people don't like him and I'm not saying he's worth that much at all. I find him easy to listen to. Do you think KT would be worth the same? I dislike the fakery of the whole influencer thing she's in to. But each to their own.
