One of the biggest deceptions used to defend Islam is the argument that "all religions have violence in their scriptures." They love to point out violent stories in the Bible and say, "See? Judaism and Christianity are just as bad as Islam!"

But here’s the truth they don’t want to admit:

The difference isn’t how often violence is mentioned, it’s whether it is a command to be followed.

Violence in the Bible is "Descriptive violence" it tells a story. It describes what happened in history, not what you should do.

Violence in Islam is "Prescriptive violence" it gives a command. It tells believers to take action, to kill, fight, enslave, or subjugate.

When a Jew or a Christian commits violence, he betrays his faith. When a Muslim commits violence, he fulfills his faith. That’s the difference.

Christian violence is not rooted in scripture. It is political, reactionary, or motivated by power. There is no command in the Bible to wage war, kill non-believers, or spread faith by force.

Islamic violence is commanded by scripture. It is theological, systematic, and a core pillar of the religion.

The Quran and Hadith are filled with direct, unchangeable orders to wage war against non-Muslims.

When Christians fought in wars, from the Crusades to the wars of European kings, they never had Jesus’ words to justify it.

The Crusades? A response to 400 years of Islamic jihad that had already conquered the Middle East.

Wars of Christian rulers? Political power struggles, not obedience to scripture.

Colonization? Greed, power, and empire, not Christianity.

Nowhere in the New Testament will you find: "Kill those who reject Christ." "Wage war until Christianity rules the world." "Take slaves from non-Christians." Because those words don’t exist.

Instead, the Bible says:
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Matthew 5:44) "Blessed are the peacemakers." (Matthew 5:9) "If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also." (Luke 6:29)

In Islam, violence isn’t a mistake, it’s an obligation. Jihad is not a suggestion, it’s a duty. Conquering non-Muslim lands is not a political strategy, it’s divine law. Killing infidels is not extremism, it’s obedience.

Islamic scripture does not just describe violence, it commands it:

Surah 9:29 – "Fight those who do not believe in Allah... until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued."

Surah 8:12 – "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So strike their necks and strike every fingertip of them."

Sahih Muslim 33 – Muhammad: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say, ‘There is no god but Allah.’"

This is why Islam has waged 1400 years of uninterrupted war against non-Muslims. From Muhammad’s own battles, to the Islamic conquests, to modern-day jihadists, the mission has always been the same:

Submit, pay, or die.

Christianity spread through preaching and conversion. It took 300 years before Christianity even had political power, and by then, it had already grown across the world without violence.

Islam spread through the sword. Within 100 years of Muhammad’s death, Islam had violently conquered Persia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Spain.

80 million Hindus slaughtered during the Islamic invasion of India.

1 million Armenians and Assyrians massacred by the Ottoman Empire.

Centuries of Islamic slave trade, more brutal than the transatlantic one.

Modern terrorism: 9/11, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Boko Haram, all following Islamic doctrine.

All 19 of the 9/11 hijackers were Muslims — all Islamist Muslims — from Middle Eastern countries.

Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda openly claimed and celebrated the mass murder of nearly 3,000 civilians. That is the documented record, not a “narrative.”

These were not “militants,” “freedom fighters,” or “people with grievances.” They were Islamist terrorists, just like Hamas, Hezbollah, IRGC, etc., who weaponized passenger jets to slaughter Americans in the name of their ideology. Bin Laden did not distance himself; he bragged about it. The perpetrators were selected, trained, and dispatched by a jihadist network that explicitly framed the attack as religious warfare against the West and “infidels.”

Any attempt to blur those facts by soft pedaling the religious identity of the attackers, treating bin Laden’s celebration as irrelevant, or shifting focus to unrelated geopolitical complaints… is evasion. The men who flew the planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field were Muslims acting on Islamist doctrine, and their leader claimed the victory. That is what happened.

🐾🇺🇸 REMEMBER THE DOGS OF 9/11

They didn't know America had been attacked.

They didn't understand terrorism or why the sky was filled with smoke and the humans around them were crying.

They only knew one thing:

Someone needed to be found.

So they searched.

Through twisted steel, smoke, dust and mountains of rubble, they climbed. Their paws became sore and injured. Their bodies were exhausted.

Still, they kept searching.

Again and again.

As the days passed and successful finds became fewer, handlers worried about the emotional toll on the dogs. Some reportedly hid among the rubble so the dogs could “find” them and experience the joy of a successful rescue again.

That part absolutely breaks me.

Maybe it's because I have dogs of my own. I know that look in their eyes when they're trying so hard to understand what we need. I know how completely they trust us and how they somehow know when we're hurting.

When I think about those dogs at Ground Zero, I imagine them looking up at their handlers as if to say:

“I'm still here. What do you need me to do?”

And off they went again.

Some searched. Others comforted exhausted rescue workers and grieving families.

They couldn't understand the evil that brought those towers down.

But they understood love, loyalty and trust.

Twenty-five years later, they remind me that we don't have to understand the darkness to bring light into it.

Keep going.
Keep helping.
Keep loving.

When we say Never Forget, remember them too.

The dusty fur.
The injured paws.
The tired eyes.
The wagging tails.

They didn't know they were heroes.

But we do.

And I wish I could reach through those old photographs, wrap my arms around every one of them and whisper:

You did your job.
You didn't fail.
You were brave.
You were loved.
