Recovering chemist, now building scientific software (Signals Notebook), ex @ChemDraw, #Spotfire @PKI_Informatics. All opinions my own. WW kayak and MTB 4 kicks
@holland_tom@TheRestHistory Great show @holland_tom. My one grumble was comparing Henry V, one of Britains greatest kings, with Donald Trump, who is self absorbed, weak and ineffective.
@Moose4Science By "you" I think you mean reasonable people with a respect for science and expertise, rather that the other "you" who are a bunch of fascists who want to enforce their pseudochristo world order upon us all.
I've been really enjoying #wehaveways podcast and especially @James1940 , but just realised we share an alma mater of @durhamalumni . Now I like him even more.
@alicelulich Also see if your university, or PI (if you aren't the PI) has one. e.g. they might get Signals Notebook via a ChemDraw subscription. Though it gets into the question of who owns it, who gets to keep it when people move. Apropos it depends....
@alicelulich@RealTimeChem I build Signals Notebook so am biased of course, Happy to PM though and try to put on my least biased hat if you want more advice.
@alicelulich@RealTimeChem Really depends on a number of factors, how much you want to share and collaborate, how specific you want to be able to search (especially if searching by chemical structures), if you need more complex content than just google docs/sheets/slides. And if you are willing to pay.
What the fax?! I guess faxing isn’t dead 🤷♂️ Use Dropbox Fax by @DropboxSign to send and receive faxes from anywhere. #DropboxFax https://t.co/7xtq1GNkdG
@tracyhle A Gin distiller I know was playing with a rotovap to flavor gins with fragile ingredients that would not survive traditional distillation methods. A lot of the flavors and aromas would carry over with the milder distillation methods.
@barneygrubbs@aj_boydston@amorri28@jbmatson@VTChemDept Surely expiration is determined by whoever pays your license and how long they paid for, nothing to do with the application itself? Not sure why this would be different elsewhere.
@intuitivegeek@engineers_feed@Alt_NASA I’m sure your random trolling is making you feel warm and fuzzy today. Given that you completely misrepresented what I said I’d encourage you to work on your comprehension instead. I have better things to do today than engage further.
@BetschartLeo I’m happy to pm or call to discuss further. My specialty is really ELNs these days and I spend my time mostly thinking about those use cases. But I’d be happy to chat about what you are trying to achieve and helping I can.
