No one should be satisfied with political interference with our pensions.
Danielle Smith and the UCP need to keep their hands off our CPP!

Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi getting spurts of big applause from municipal leaders in Red Deer. He promised to pay Alberta’s property taxes, let towns “use the damn voting machines” & criticized the UCP for “kinda-sorta” announcing a new police force today. #ableg#yeg#yyc
Not surprising. 73% of Cdns open to major reform of health systems. Let’s do what hasn’t been done in Canada. Let’s design/implement a system of universal access to primary care - a health home for every neighbourhood. Other countries do this. We can too. https://t.co/3qLjOKrySO
Dr. Luanne Metz, Alberta NDP Critic for Health issued the following statement in response to the UCP breaking their surgical wait time promise:
“Danielle Smith and the UCP have broken yet another promise to Albertans, this time on surgical wait times.
“A year ago, in her ‘say-anything-to-get-elected’ season, Smith promised to ensure that every Albertan would get the surgeries they need within the recommended wait times. She said she was ‘absolutely confident.’
“None of the experts and health professionals believed her then and given this year’s budget, nobody can reasonably believe her now. Even her Health Minister, Adriana LaGrange, said in an interview today, ‘I don't want to set expectations too high.’
“The UCP is cynically playing with Albertans’ lives, leaving them in pain for months and years longer than they should expect. Current wait times are inappropriate and unfair and this government’s so-called plan won’t address them for almost a decade.
“Keeping in mind, wait times only include the time from when a patient is placed on the waitlist, not the months and years they have to wait to see a surgeon in the first place.
“If alleviating pain and suffering is one of those ‘wants’ of Albertans that Danielle Smith keeps dismissing, she should re-examine her new fiscal experiment and stop starving our public health care system. Albertans need, and expect, her to do much better.”

The “Alberta Advantage” meant having a world class Public Education system and solid Public Health Care.
Under Smith, we now have the LOWEST public education funding in Canada and a decimated health care system
The Alberta Advantage is dead.
Thanks Danielle.

Alberta teachers have launched a campaign to highlight the fact our province has the LOWEST per student education funding in Canada.
We agree, this has to change.

Without even knowing the specifics, the UCP have already decided they’ll opt out of the pharmacare program that includes coverage for contraceptives and diabetes medication.
Imagine being so ideological that you’d choose owning the Libs over the healthcare of your citizens.
It’s funny how the conservatives call Trudeau a dictator meanwhile in #Alberta#DanielleSmith & the #UCP release life altering policy with zero debate, zero discussion, zero consultation and it’s not even going through the leg.
This isn’t democracy. #ableg#abhealth#abpoli
.@ABDanielleSmith
Homelessness, drought, leaking coal mine, burning oil well, 12-hour emergency room waits and towns without doctors.
What is premier Daniele Smith preoccupied with?
Drinking straws, again.
I suppose she tackles what she’s able to understand.

If those under 18 already can't get gender-affirming surgery and if those 16-17 can't get hormone treatment without extensive consultations with doctors/psychologists (which Smith acknowledged in press conference)....what problem is Alberta trying to solve?
