At Northwell since 2015:
105K strokes, 32% diagnosed with Afib at some point

The “reverse”:
655K patients with Afib diagnosis, 7,4% had a stoke

Afib ablation:
2,293 patients with Afib ablation
3.5 years follow up
21 (0.9%) had a stroke
13 (62%) while on anticoagulation

Some of this data published, the rest under publication

Our work is certainly not complete after a successful typical flutter ablation!

Follow-up, monitoring, anticoagulation❓

➡️Clarity is needed for best practices for these patients

Real-world long-term #AF ablation outcomes on a highly diverse cohort of 3,500 patients (96% retention) from our home grown #ITHACA-database

🗝️ finding ➡️ persistent AF patients who are AF free at 1-year have similar outcomes to paroxysmal patients thereafter

❗️Hemolysis ≠ Renal failure

➡️Hemolysis does happen with PFA, however differences within technologies exist. If judicious with PFA applications the risk of clinically significant hemolysis is very low! @NorthwellHealth @EuropaceEiC @kcole_12
