@TheIFAB EFL referees are circumventing this by getting the 4th official to tell them the substitution, so they can tell the player and he then ambles slowly off precisely as before. The board only goes up when the player is about 10 yards from the touchline.

@JohnnyR55380733 The only 1-1 draw away to AP Leamington I can find was 16 August 1975. John Murphy scored for Cheltenham. It can't be 1980-81 as Wimbledon were in the Football League by then.

@JoshR319 @CrossCountryUK It doesn't help when the platform indications and announcements all advise a 9 coach train. Then it arrives, the front unit is OOU and passengers have to walk down the platform before boarding (as at Cheltenham on Saturday, where it took 5 minutes to board before departure).
