@faisalislam As someone who used to drive the M20 regularly, the drop in freight traffic was noticeable. I've always wondered how much traffic that was actually going Ireland and has now rerouted to avoid crossing Britain and the border checks involved.
@Telegraph@paullewismoney Time the FCA regulated NS&I like it does the banks and building societies NS&I competes with. Then the senior execs would be held personally accountable for this mess.

New report on #HousingPolicy suggests quick wins to tackle the UK’s housing crisis:

@paullewismoney@paullewismoney Agree. ISAs are more flexible now than in the past. Savers can choose all cash, all shares or a mixture. If investment providers offer & record was more compelling then they’d get more money. Cash still remains relevant to a large (older?) group of course.
@AdamMcDonnell21 In the light of withdrawal of winter fuel payments, it would be really interesting to slice your general election voting data by employment status (retired) and household income.
The fiscal pendulum is now swinging back like a wrecking ball. For the sake of a sane public debate, can we please be really clear about the economics here? Spending cuts and tax hikes are not going to boost growth in an economy already heading for a recession.
You’ll have seen a lot of charts in the past few weeks.
But this one REALLY matters.
The mortgage burden - the % we spend on our repayments - is heading for the highest level since the late 80s.
Last time it hit these levels it preceded the biggest housing crash in modern history
It is with deep sadness that we learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. On behalf of the BSA and our members we send our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family on their loss. We are thankful for Her Majesty’s decades of loyal service to the United Kingdom.
@trafficscotland We hear a bus has knocked someone over on the A82 itself. We've vee stationary over an hour. The queue must stretch well beyond Fort William by now. Both east and west.
Hi @SouthernWater you're busy - been trying to call since 6.30am, keep being cut-off, 1st time after 1 hour & 37 mins queuing. Cut-off 2x since.
We've got no water 😞
Reported the local main leak at 9am Sat. Man came round on Sun, agreed there's a leak. No action since. Help!
