This is one of the all time great events in South Philadelphia. Live Aid Concert 38 years ago this week. July 13, 1985. Over 30 star acts including Mick Jagger, P Collins, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton and more. Thats 89,000 people at JFK Stadium. You also see The Spectrum and The Vet in the background. The #Sixers should realize that’s where sports and entertainment venues should locate. NOT in a traffic jam downtown. Financially it’s clearly a mistake for the city to have an arena to locate in downtown Philadelphia. Would be dark 250 days a year. South Philly is home for entertainment. Period.
