It's mainly because their companies have gained more monopoly power as consumers have fewer alternatives.

@AOC But then again I do think that is what some activists want: to slash and burn ie defund. It's on our elected leaders to actually reallocate, reprioritize, and COMMUNICATE that we can better achieve public safety through social $$ rather than militarized, overburdened policing.

@Albertsons Hi there. Just got @Safeway groceries delivered and 30+ cheap plastic bags used on a single order for a single person. Items double bagged, bags half full. Appreciate all grocery employees do right now, but why not make paper the corporate default for deliveries? 🙏
