URGENT HELP NEEDED — £700,000 CLAIM AGAINST A LANDLORD

I don’t normally ask for help like this, but I genuinely believe this lady needs someone in her corner.

She owns one rental property — she is not some big-time landlord. The income was intended to help fund her grandson’s university education.

The tenant has now not paid rent for more than 18 months, and on top of that has brought an astonishing claim against her for around £700,000, covering a huge list of allegations which she strongly disputes.

She already has a solicitor, but both of us are becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of money disappearing into legal fees without seemingly getting any closer to resolving this.

The tenant is also using the Breathing Space / Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space process, which has had a major impact on what legal action can currently be taken.

She has tried going through the proper legal routes. She has tried doing everything by the book.

But she is now at breaking point.

I am genuinely worried about her welfare and what this prolonged situation is doing to her.

Does anyone know a genuinely experienced solicitor, barrister or organisation specialising in landlord/tenant litigation, Breathing Space cases and substantial civil claims who would be prepared to look at this properly?

I’m not looking for Twitter legal experts or people wanting to pile in — I’m looking for someone credible who can actually help this woman.

An Iraqi man with no fixed address has been charged with raping a 14-year-old boy in a Portsmouth alleyway after allegedly speaking to him on a bus.

The story has barely made the news. We are so desensitised to this horror. This young boy won’t be.

Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, is also charged with stalking a woman in her 20s for a year and criminal damage.

A child allegedly raped. A woman allegedly stalked. And once again, the obvious question: what was this man’s immigration status and why was he here?

I am furious.
Our son was murdered by a man whose violent and vicious history and risks were repeatedly missed.

Now we learn that another mentally ill man with a fixation on us and the Nottingham case travelled to Somerset, including our home town, seeking out victims' families; and the police chose not to tell us.

@nottspolice knew. The @policeconduct knew.

Yet nobody thought Barnaby's family deserved a warning.
Nobody thought Charlie's school deserved safeguarding advice.
Nobody thought we had a right to know.

Is this even legal? Isn’t this within 'Osman warning'.

As @drsanjoykumar points out in the story; the Calocane family were heaped with additional support and resources, including CCTV to make them safe.

We had zero.

How many more shocking failures are we expected to uncover ourselves?

Victims' families should not have to fight for every piece of information while those responsible hide behind processes and excuses.

🚨🇬🇧 LARGE FIRE NEAR WEMBLEY STADIUM AFTER REPORTS OF EXPLOSION

A major fire has broken out near Wembley Stadium in north-west London, following reports of an explosion.

London Fire Brigade has sent 20 fire engines and around 125 firefighters to the blaze on Hannah Close in Neasden, an industrial estate just under a mile from the stadium. Crews were called at 11:34am after more than 70 reports came in.

Huge plumes of smoke can be seen across the area. Residents nearby are being told to close doors and windows and stay inside where possible.

The cause is not yet known. This is a developing story.

🚨🇬🇧 AIRPORT CYBER ATTACK: THE EMAIL CUSTOMERS ARE NOW GETTING

Customers caught up in today's airport data breach have started receiving emails from Manchester Airports Group confirming their information was taken.

The message, sent to those affected at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands, says data linked to car parking, lounges, Fast Track and Wi-Fi sign-ups was accessed by an unauthorised third party, including email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations and postcodes. No bank or payment details were held on the system.

MAG says there's no action customers need to take, but warns them to be wary of unexpected emails, calls or texts, as criminals often use stolen data like this to run convincing scams.

The irony won't be lost on anyone: an email reassuring you about a data breach, at a time when you've just been told to trust no unexpected emails.
