I build software and write about programming, product decisions, and the state of modern tech.
Currently building HyperLector: a desktop + backend app with Python, Qt, and FastAPI.
Trying to get deeper into a low-level, performance-minded, Handmade-style frame of mind.
@PlaystackGames Can you please sort out the situation of Mortal Shell 2 on GeForce Now please? There's lots of us who can only play on that platform. Thanks.
@MortalShellGame Please fix the Geforce Now implementation. I was looking forward to playing the game but I don't have the hardware to run it. I bought it on steam but can't play it now. Much appreciated π
Now that rampocalypse is upon us I'm hoping it makes Microsoft rethink Windows performance. Before they could just push the system requirements up to compensate for the terrible code. Now that people are going to be on their old hardware with lower specs until at least 2028 or maybe even as long as 2030 Microsoft will have no choice but to make Windows leaner.
But then again, this is Microsoft we are talking about.
@zeddotdev I think the latest update 1.15.0 is affecting Zed/BasedPyright combo. The typeCheckingMode should be standard but basedpyright 1.39.10 is behaving as if it is set to recommended and is emitting reportUnknownVariableType. I've not made any config changes in the last few days. I think it's related to GitHub issue 62624. Not catastrophic but thought I'd mention it. Cheers.
@valigo This number should scare any sensible programmer. How do you even debug that? How do you know where things are?
How would even an AI agent debug that if you threw the entire or chunks of the codebase into the 1m context?
Cheap AI made humanity forget the concept of efficiency
@thsottiaux Hey Tibo, this is great and you have some nice plugins for PowerPoint and Excel but will you ever make a plugin for Word? I hate having Copilot in there. Need that Sol goodness.
@Maya_BsAs@sanjeevpai@OpenAI@cerebras at High it still takes a few minutes to get back to me. I want that instant response. I hate having to wait as it wastes time - can't move on to anything else as it's only a few minutes so just have to sit and wait. Over a day it adds up.
@sanjeevpai@OpenAI I use Work rarely (never below 80% weekly limit) and mostly use web chat. I like highest intelligence and would love to get even higher intelligence at faster speeds. I'm on plus. If I can get pro or heavy at @cerebras speeds I'll get the Β£100 Pro subscription.
@test_tm7873 Yeah for some reason @SpaceXAI prioritises API release over SuperGrok release. Probably because that's where the majority of Grok users are.
@athasdev I use @zeddotdev as my daily driver. I switched to it from LazyVim because I needed a good windows IDE. Never been happier. Fast, crisp, clean. It has features if you need but never in your face.
