@illinifbguru@JJ_Enjoyer26 Glad to see people can debate without resulting to being childish, oh wait. I am sorry you get a rise out of insulting strangers on the internet. Try to be a better person.
@illinifbguru@JJ_Enjoyer26 The only thing he grades negatively in is throwing… but it doesn’t affect his/pitchers era. Doesn’t seem unplayable if you get on base 40% of the time at a position that normally plays average defense and below average offense
@JJ_Enjoyer26 Sorry I assumed overrated meant written off.
Players with a nearly .400 OBP don’t grow on trees and would be extremely valuable at catcher. Would you view that as a positive if the cardinals traded for that? If yes, why not then keep and develop that same player?
@The_diSPENCER42@mike_rodich75@BKSportsTalk Return then he is worth while to hold on to, unless you know better first base men in our system that can contribute in 1-3 years
@The_diSPENCER42@mike_rodich75@BKSportsTalk Ivan for catcher yes, because again. Average at blocking, average at framing, above average game caller, and the stolen bases don’t lead to extra runs. Spending a non surgery offseason should help. Burly is in the top 10 at 1b why trade him, if he gets that great of a prospect
@The_diSPENCER42@mike_rodich75@BKSportsTalk Emphasis on player development , but trade the players who can hit at the mlb level instead of developing them? So players just stop developing when they hit the show? Our great training staff can’t help them work out kinks in their defense?
@mike_rodich75@The_diSPENCER42@BKSportsTalk 85+ RBI has to have people on base to score those runs. Both are productive. High level skill players. Why not try to make them better than gambling on prospects ranked 5-25. Go back and look at the cardinals past “top prospect” and try to find 2 above average batters
@The_diSPENCER42@mike_rodich75@BKSportsTalk Who said anything about molding the line up around them? If teams are trading for them the are productive players and you put productive players are stars. I think JJ and Walker are the stars and are better because the have Ivan and Burly in the line up.
@d_red1013@BKSportsTalk Okay but if it doesn’t score additional runs why does that matter? If someone steals 2nd base and then never scores who cares?
As another point, among qualified catchers (70+) he is in the top 1/3rd of stolen bases allowed… so people aren’t running crazy on him.
The only player in MLB history to homer in his first career Major League game and then provide a walk-off hit in his second!
