𝗣𝗠: 𝗪𝗛𝗬
Everything the team builds should have a clear reason and a goal (aka: "why"). That goal could be to grow business, acquire more users, colonize mars, or anything else.

It is the PM’s responsibility to, first, find the right reason. Then, to ensure that others in the team know and believe in the "why”.

This step ensures that the PM prioritises the 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙢 for the users and the business. And that the entire team works on solving that problem.

𝗣𝗠 + 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 + 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧
Once the 𝘸𝘩𝘺 and the 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 is identified, the next step is to find the best solution (aka the "what") to the problem.

This is where the product team (PM, Engineers, Designers) come together to identify and prioritise the most valuable, feasible, and viable solution.

Engineers help understand opportunities and constraints of technology; designers advocate for users and their experience; PMs balance all of this with the business needs.

Therefore, including diverse opinions is super critical and beneficial at this stage.

𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗛𝗢𝗪
Once the team knows 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 to build, engineers take lead to define the best way to build the solution.

The goal is to build the solution in a cost-effective manner that keeps creating value in the long-term.

𝗣𝗠 + 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡
The last step in the product lifecycle is defining milestones and timelines for each. The PM, engineering manager, and the project manager (wherever applicable) get together to create a delivery plan, timelines, resourcing plans, risk mitigation, etc.

The goal is to ensure that the delivery team has the required resourcing, and a realistic timeline to work with. This ensures high quality delivery at the right time.
