I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Christian). I am a Son of God. I (we) are spiritual beings having an earthly experience.
☣️🦠Has Russia's heavy-handed response to the BSL-3 lab accident in Siberia stopped an outbreak from becoming an epidemic? Here's how an outbreak becomes an epidemic, and could potentially become a pandemic:🦠☣️
■ Gen 0, the primary case = 1st person infected.
■ note: Patient zero / index patient = first reported case, not necessarily 1st infected.
■ Person(s) directly infected by Gen 0 become Gen 1.
■ Person(s) infected by Gen 1 become Gen 2.
■ Person(s) infected by Gen 2 become Gen 3.
■ And so it goes...
This person-to-person pathway of infection is known as a transmission chain. It's why @WHO wants Russia to confirm if reports of a 2nd lab employee w/plague are true.

Earlier this year, President Dallin H. Oaks repeated the warning issued by President Russell M. Nelson from general conference in April 2018:
“In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”
What do you do to rivet your attention, to assure that you survive spiritually by having the constant influence of the Holy Ghost?
You look carefully at your daily activities. Am I praying? Am I thoughtfully partaking of the sacrament? What am I putting into my mind? Am I associating with others who seek the constant influence of the Holy Ghost? What could be my distractions, my obstacles, or my deceptions?
I invite you to pray for inspiration and courage to make any changes you need to make.
The moment you decide to return and walk in the way of your Savior and Redeemer, His power will enter your life and you will be transformed.
Angels in heaven will rejoice.
In the temple, we experience many life-defining moments.
As I dedicated the beautiful McAllen Texas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today, I reflected on some of these moments and experiences.
•You come to the temple to be married for time and eternity.
•Families are united; generations past and future joyfully come together in Christ.
•Many enter the temple to learn about the purpose of life and receive God’s blessings for the future.
•Joyful, enriching, spiritual experiences happen in the temple daily.
When you come to the temple during times of personal trial and great sorrow, you will find peace for your soul. When you come because you feel grief or confusion, the Lord will offer you serenity and inner peace.
When you come to give thanks and worship God, you will receive a special measure of affirmation and confidence from Heavenly Father.
I assure each of you that as you go to the temple or visit the temple grounds, you will walk on sacred, holy ground. You can hear the still, small voice of the Spirit in the temple or on its sacred grounds in ways you never will at the mall, in restaurants, and in public places.
In these coming days, weeks, and months—as stretching and hard as they may become—I invite you to trust God’s love and the Spirit. They will enable you to be an angel of light to those around you.
In a parched world, thirsty for a smile, hungry for a hello, we can redefine our comfort zones. Sit by someone sitting alone. Include, compliment, encourage, in person and online. Give the benefit of the doubt. Listen, go, be there. #WWDevo
Metaphorically speaking, yielding to temptation is like approaching a magnet with a metal object. The magnet’s invisible force attracts the metal object and holds it tightly. The magnet loses its power over it only when the metal object is placed far from it. #GeneralConference
If we seek to follow Jesus Christ with all our heart, I promise that He will send His Holy Spirit to strengthen and comfort us, and we may become individuals after the Lord’s own heart. #HearHim
Dear friends, please turn to the Master Healer. I testify He can restore us; He can make us whole. And through this process, we can become the person He wants us to become.
We are cautioned, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). An equally worrisome couplet for our time would be, “Woe unto them that make complex that which is simple.” The things of Christ are straightforward, requiring small, simple actions on our part.
I believe that one day, each of you will look back at the canceled events, the sadness, the disappointments, and the loneliness attendant to the challenging times we are passing through to see them overshadowed by choice blessings and increased faith and testimonies.
Christ’s influence, imprint, and reach are all encompassing. He is there when we falter and when we press forward. He loves us in our brightest and our darkest hours.
The joyous message of Christ’s church is that “the truth of God” (2 Nephi 28:28) points a better way, or as Paul said, “a more excellent way” (1 Corinthians 12:31), a way to personal happiness and community well-being now and to everlasting peace and joy hereafter.
I often think of those of you who may not be married or blessed with children or have other desired blessings now.
I testify that the Lord has promised that the righteous who are faithful “may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness” (Mosiah 2:41).
