Our MU14 side came out on top in a 7-goal thriller as they beat Waterford 4-3 in SETU Arena Astro today.

The Rams led 4-0 after the hour-mark, including a hat-trick from Adam Aherne and a goal from Brian Coady.

Three goals in ten minutes from Waterford wasn’t enough as our lads held on strong to top off a strong performance against a very physical side! 💪

Our MU15s earned a hard-fought 3-3 draw away to Wexford FC today in an entertaining contest.

Having come from behind on three occasions, the boys showed tremendous character, resilience and determination to take a well-deserved point on the road.

While we created enough chances to win the game, some missed opportunities proved costly, and we also had Bodhi Yelverton to thank for several outstanding saves, including a crucial stop late on to preserve the draw.

Goals came from Lorcan Evans, Tom McCarthy and Léon Bollard.

Another valuable point on the road and plenty of positives to take. On to the next game.

Cobh Ramblers FC can confirm that following tonight’s game with Bray Wanderers, our captain @shane_griff will call time on his @leagueofireland career.

Shane joined us at the beginning of the 2025 season, following on from winning the 2024 Men’s Premier Division with Shelbourne. He has gone on to make 56 appearances for the Rams and wearing the captain’s armband on 51 occasions.

Men’s First Team Manager Fran Rockett, “A special person and a great player thats how I see Griff and I’ve enjoyed working with him.

Trying to balance family life, work and the relentless demands of football is never easy. Shane has given so much of his life to the game, and now the time is right for family to come first.

During this transitional period at the club, Shane’s experience, professionalism and character have been hugely important. Having someone of his calibre around the group during a period of change has been invaluable, and his influence has gone far beyond what he has contributed on the pitch.

It’s been an honour and a privilege to manage Shane. He’s someone who has earned huge respect throughout the game, and rightly so.

Thanks for everything, Griff. Wishing you and your family nothing but the very best for the next chapter.”
