@dhh Can SaaS vendors that DON'T compete with the original Licensor use pieces of the code in a hosted, managed, or SaaS product where the primary value of the service is the functionality of the Software itself?
e.g. using a Fizzy UI component in a tractor-tracking SaaS for farmers?
@dhh I'm confused about one thing. Could I use Fizzy's code in a "Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product or cloud service where the primary value of the service is the functionality of the Software itself" that does NOT compete with 37Signals? Like a tractor-tracking SaaS for farmers?
@ShopifySupport Please tell your Help Center Assistant UI team that using the CSS rule `text-wrap: pretty` on text that changes can be disorienting and even sickening. `pretty` and `balance` should only be used on static text, not text that streams in one character at a time.
@ManningBooks Can you please add High Contrast mode to the LiveBook reader? I'd like it to have a pure white background, and a pure black background. It would make it easier to read on low-contrast displays, especially e-ink displays. My subscription would be much more valuable.
@jeremyblalock We worked together at Second Street and were about to leave to found a no-code app company together (HeroSpark). Legal concerns & conversations with Second Street’s owners came up (re: loosely-worded IP assignment clauses). I ended up not wanting to on so much risk.
@RyanCarniato I think @dhh basically did years ago. "If rails and ruby is a perfect fit for the 99.9%, hey, that's fantastic! I could not get a better endorsement than saying 'Oh, your framework is not the right thing for the 0.1% of us.' Uh, Okay!" (from followup: https://t.co/zU06UhV5ca)
