Part of the reason many ecom email guys switched back to ChatGPT from Claude is because it gave the illusion of writing good copy
Then they realized it's a scam
"quiet confidence" "quiet comfort" "quiet victory" next time I read the word quiet I'mma kms
A good system prompt + fine tuning has fooled too many
"You know the scene"
"That moment when"
"No X. No Y. Just Z"
"This isn't just X, it's Y"
ChatGPT is way too formulaic
It's still good for some angles/email types however
Claude is great but still sucks at certain things I'll expand upon later. Also it makes up facts/scenarios that didn't happen
That's why it's useful to be able to use both in one place

Copywriting in different mediums is kinda the same but also kinda not
Email copywriting is different in that it's spread across multiple emails
One single email isn't meant to take someone from cold to sold
If all your emails look like sales letters there's something wrong
It's a slow burn
You need to be engaging, entertaining, problem-focused, relevant, and at the same time, brief
That's why AI can do it so well, if you provide very specific instructions
Ok I'm gonna censor his name cause it's a young account and I don't wanna throw shade
But he clearly doesn't write good copy
Screenshot #2 is from a plaintext email I wrote recently. I added ?position=number params to each link
To see where people click
Now this email was LONG.
400-500 words
No CTA unless you scroll to the middle at least
And you'd think that that first link got the most clicks
No, no.
The last one did
People scrolled all the way down
Most probably read the whole email
And clicked the last frickin link
I say they most probably read it all because
This was also our best-performing email of the MONTH.
I'm telling you lot
Don't underestimate copy. The ecom hacks aren't everything.
And wait for Datamails to come out (that's how I wrote this email)
If you can write relevant, interesting copy you've already made a winning email if you have above average IQ
