@w2njl@radioworld_news@SBEorg@1010WINS Hope you got a chance to explore artifacts of the former inline array & discuss the WINS/CFRB agreement that led to the current design.
Had a sitdown with legendary A’s broadcaster Ken Korach this week to look back on the previous regular season series played by the A’s in Las Vegas three decades ago, which actually marked the official start of his broadcasting career with the A’s. https://t.co/bIYzdmtWxH
@UNTsocial@UNT_Libraries@UNTUnion Challenge to @UNTsocial: Pleaee find a picture of the original @dentonisd Sam Houston ES. It was purchased by UNT, torn down, & replaced by a garage. A new Sam Houston ES was built elsewhere.
This idea that "TV news is dead" is widespread.
It's also wrong.
"ABC World News Tonight" is the most-watched TV program of *any kind*, including sports, primetime entertainment, etc. - on the airwaves. It earns more than $250 million annually.
"60 Minutes" earns +$200 million.
@RobHartWBBM IIRC, the last announcer to work on Steve Allen’s radio show was @MarkSimoneNY. It was produced in the NBC Radio studios at 1700 Broadway in Manhattan.
May 25, 1989: a month after I reported the trade was a possibility, the #expos acquired Mark Langston and PTBNL Mike Campbell from Seattle for Randy Johnson, Brian Holman and Gene Harris.
It's a trade still bandied about all these years later.
This is the final CBS News Radio broadcast, aired between 11 p.m. (the top of the hour is first) and 11:30 p.m. (the final special report).
After 99 years on the air, CBS Radio News has ended.

@SimonDingleyTV Looks intriguing, but the 1,400 mi/2260 km one way trip to the nearest Canadian @Wendys is a bit more than I’m willing to travel. Perhaps it will be added to the US menu someday…
