@Bobby_Seq I know right?! I think they are doing it to try and encourage the parents to take more interest in their kids school work. So I guess that could be a potential benefit lost in the immediate frustration. It’s really annoying though.
@aLfriendo Yup generally true of people that live near the city or the southern suburbs. Need a passport to go past durbanville. However west coast, somerset west and north of durbanville people are happy to travel for an hour just for a coffee.
@Bobby_Seq And I have to say when they set out projects I can 100% tell you they are expecting the parents to run the project and have their kids help out. I’ve heard a teacher explicitly say so.
@Bobby_Seq I was also never helped during studies that I can remember, but I have to say the things the teachers these days ask from our kids would be impossible if left alone. They would never pass unless they had some guidance and help with studying.
Reminded strongly today of T S Eliot's quote: “Nothing pleases people more than to go on thinking what they have always thought, and at the same time imagine that they are thinking something new and daring: it combines the advantage of security and the delight of adventure.”
A table came up with a new way to do backlog refinement and now the workshop is over they are pulling the rest of their team in to show it off. I call that a big success!!!
